The National Institute of Health Sciences provides a range of programmes to support research and continuing professional development in HSE staff. The training and education offered covers utilisation of Library and information services and the development of core research skills.
In addition the the NIHS in partnership with the HSE and the University of Limerick deliver a range of Applied Health Sciences Programme to the private sector.
We are currently hosting a series of lectures focusing on key elements of Health Research.
The topics and speakers are as follows:

Critical Appraisal & Finding the Evidence - Mairead Cowan, HSE & Catherine Kennedy, NIHS
Qualitative Research Methods - Dr Frank Houghton, Limerick Institute of Technology
Quantitative Research - Dr Jean Saunders, Statistical Consulting Unit, University of Limerick
Guest Speaker; Prof Colum Dunne, Director of Research, Graduate Medical School, University of Limerick
